How to start a book of quotes that inspire me by Hexenkind

How I did it:
It started with a beautiful notebook that I found in a bookstore. Or maybe it found me, who knows...
I already had a journal, but I just had to buy it!!! Somehow it was very clear to me that this should be a special book; and since I was going to a challenging time in my life, I figured I could use it as some kind of treasure chest.

I wrote something like an introduction, a short letter to my future self, explaining that this book was supposed to cheer me up and bring color and inspiration in my life whenever I would need it.

The first quote I wrote down was this one:

they tell us that dragons can be beaten." --G.K.Chesterton

So whenever I found a nice quote I copied it and then wrote it down. In the beginning I tried using different colors, but then found out that I write best with black ballpoints...

I also cut out pictures from old magazines, postcards, stickers, etc. and put them in the book. Whenever possible with a matching quote.

I don´t believe it´s possible to make such a book within a few weeks, it´s growing with me. Whenever I´m feeling lost, confused or down I browse the web for quotes, words that express what I can´t and that touch a string of my heart.

Some special people know about my passion and whenever they send me an e-mail they finish with a quote...

Lessons & tips: *pick a nice notebook, lines or no lines, whatever you feel most comfortable with

*pay attention to the quality of the paper!!! you don´t want too thin paper, it won´t last long!!!

*take your time, this is a long term project

*only write quotations down once you feel a    "connection", meaning; this isn´t a competition on   filling a book as fast as possible

*books, movies, plays, songs, poems, anything that makes you feel good

*read in your book, get inspired

*THERE ARE NO RULES EXCEPT THE ONES YOU MAKE FOR YOUR BOOK!!!

How I did it: I already have a file "quotes" on my computer, but I can't always turn it on when I want to write sth down. So I just took a notebook that is half full, but I don't use it anymore, and started writing quotes from books I read and some random thoughts of mine. It's small, so it can fit in a purse, and I have it whenever I need inspiration :D Read how I did it…

    I always READ books with inspirational quotes, but I’ve never got around to actually WRITING one! I’m a published author, for cryin out loud, and I think it would make me feel good if I wrote an inspiring quote-book :)
