I want to make something of myself early on so I can focus on the rest of this list for the remainder of my life.
I wasn’t put on this earth to slave away forever – I work now, sacrifice everything else, take my risks, build my future.

Early Retirement 5 months ago

My job is so stressful. I’ve gained too much weight and have no energy.

Anyhow, I’m planning to give up my job on Sept 1st. It’ll be tough financially but I’m really excited about making it happen and learning to live frugally.

Well DUH! 17 months ago

Of course I want to do this! But I’m only 27. Its not like I plan on retiring next year or anything. I haven’t even started my career yet! I can’t keep this on my list for the next 25 years. If I’m still on 43things 20 years from now, I’ll re-add it. For right now, I’ll just make a mental note of it.

I am by no means able to retire or anything of the like, but I do have a co-owned business, n I live in Canada, which seems to help. I am getting a car in the next month, so that will be a set back.

I’ll always be young at heart, but I would like to retire while I’m still 100% young.

I was State of Michigan employee, and got very lucky when they had budget problems, and decided to offer an early out retirement program as a way of reducing employees. If you had 30 years in and were over the age of 50 you could retire with full benefits and a little boost in your pension. I am bringing home as much in retirement pay as I was when I was working. If anyone tells you keeping your nose to the stone, or isn’t worth it, tell them they don’t know Jack.

You shouldn’t retire just because you’re old. You should do it because you have enough money to live the life you want without working for it.

My plan of action is to find as many ways to create as much passive streams of income as possible. My money works for me, as opposed me working for it.
