i think it would be cool to swim with dolphins
How to swim with dolphins in the wild
How I did it: I went in November in Kaikoura, NZ. The water is cool year around, but the summer weather can be quite nice. I went out on the 8:30 AM boat, but would have been happy going out at 6:00 AM.
Lessons & tips: Take some sea-sickness pills before hand if you sometimes get sea sick, as the boats are and rock quite a bit.

They have a number of excursions in New Zealand in go swim with the dolphins, but the weather wasn’t good on the days we could have gone.
Last week a dozen or so dolphins came into Manly cove. They were quite neat to see swimming in the wild. I figured by the time I got in the water, they probably would have left. I saw them swimming for a total of about five minutes, so it doubt I would have got to swim with them even if I ran down to the water.
I’m planning to go back to New Zealand in the summer some time, and take advantage of the opportunity then.

Got a chance to swim with dolphins in NZ – absolutely great.
bove water, hundreds of dolphins were doing backflips, somersaults – the whole shebang and we had about fifteen swim underneath us whilst we were humming into our snorkels.
you dont really swim with them, you splash hopelesssly around while they laugh at you and show you how to really swim, summersault, dive all the while sniggering at you – cocky bastards!
Went on a charter in honolulu swam with a huge school (pod?) of spinner dolphins. They were as fascinated by me as I was by them.
...Sorry about that bad pun there.. Swimming at a little beach place call Hat Head, near Kempsey on the NSW (Australia) mid-north coast, we saw a half-dozen or so fins moving parallel to the beach toward us – an alarming moment until it turned out to be a pod of dolphins, passing us about 4 or 5 metres away – very nice!

In the midsummer the dolphins usually pass through huntington beach, and I am almost alway swimming. I usually get nervous about getting too close… when you are that far out it can be unnerving sometimes. But they will come right up to you when you are on your board or just swimming. It has only happened a few times that they come close enough to touch, but it’s a great experience.
It is hard to see the dolphins once you are in the water. They don;t get too close to you. They get close to the boat when you are in it. As of Feb 28, 2006 it is illegal to swim with dolphins because it is stressful for the animals.
I spend at least once a month swinmming with these beautiful. graceful creatures. I always feel blessed when they come visit and its always a surreal stillness when they move on and I am left alone again. Just awsome! Go and make the effort, its worth it.
