Teach myself guitar

So I did a little practicing while the kids were being read bedtime stories. I am even worse now than I was before I took my little practice break. Woops.

But I lost my book, so I’ve taken a break.

Also I am wondering what will happen when I move to California. Will my step father take back the guitar that he will never use just because he won it and it’s something that is “HIS” or will he be nice and let me keep it? When I’ll actually use it?

I don’t know. He’s very territorial. But he might like me to go so he can have my mom all to himself and not have to share her. I’m not expecting him to give me the guitar, actually. But I still don’t see why he wants it, just so he can keep it in the closet.

Ooh. Bitterness on my part. Any way it goes, I’ll work it out. And find a guitar somewhere.

I am learning chords on the first three strings at this point. Have been practicing “Down in the Valley.”

My goal is to play “Take Me Home, Country Road” which is the last song at the end of the book. I love that song, and I can sing along. Some day, I’ll be able to play guitar and sing to my kids. Or just play guitar for myself.

How exciting. I’ve had this on my list of things to do for decades, it seems. I was 7 when my sister got guitar lessons and I got RECORDER lessons. I’m 38 now. Might finally be getting it done.

I’m even developing calluses on my fingers… well, the first three.
