Finding the right trees wasn’t easy. I sent emails to different nurseries, but no luck. I found them farfar away and now they are shining in our front yard!

is all ready. The vinca minor alba Myrtle with white flowers in the cobblestone bordered star looks just beautiful. It seemed such a great plan, planting now, but it started snowing! It might be better to wait with the other plants and the trees till next week ;-).

Done for now 2 years ago

We got a bunch of plants in the ground (just before a last freeze snuck in) and I’m going to consider this done for now. We need to go back to the drawing board on most of the yard and need to see that “phase 1” lives to come up out of the ground. There’s a lot of hardscaping that needs to be done before anymore landscaping goes in.

Working on my own front yard 2 years ago

I wouldn’t even put a picture of what my yard looks like here. I’ve done several others for friends and other people but can’t figure out my own. Mine looks terrible.

I’ve drawn it out about ten different times and still don’t like any of it. I’ll try to do it a few more times and if I still can’t get it…..

Think I’ll just copy a yard from the free picture directory at Front Yard Landscaping Ideas , quite trying to be creative and be done with it.

Babbling brooks and all that... 3 years ago

I don’t have a babbling brook (I wasn’t THAT industrious) but I do have a 4 tiered fountain. I also built a rock wall with the various sized rocks found on my property. I built a curved area that I edged with rose colored stack bricks and filled it in with montana river rocks. In the middle of that area, I built a firepit with 4 layers of the stackstone in a circle. The firepit is in the middle, the fountain is on the left and my cedar seating area with umbrella is on the right. It turned out AWESOME and it’s even better because we did all the work ourselves! This weekend we’re finishing up with the white picket fence all the way around the front yard end of my property. Can’t wait to get that done!!! It’s the final project!

a dream come true 3 years ago

i still have the north side of my front yard to landscape but i did receive one of my finishing touches for the front yard today. clive, the name of my garden gnome, arrived today from ebay.

gonna call this one done, because the main things that I had to do there were:

    1. get grass (on hold for financial reasons)
    2. turn haphazard container gardening into something more planned

I have done #2 today (whewwww tired) and #1 I am going to reword “landscape the backyard” for. So, I declare this one complete!

    Kind of cheated . . . but that's OK. 3 years ago

After spending numerous weekends weeding . . . we decided to hire a service to finish things up for us. We haven’t bought a lawnmower yet, and our weekends are always so crazy.

So we’ve got a group coming every other week. I know, I’m kind of lazy. But the yard looks great!

    i've had a 3 years ago

cold this weekend and therefore not been able to work on the landscaping any. this is a photo of what it looks like.
