I bought my Powerbook with my tax refund in 2005, and it’s great. I still use Linux and FreeBSD on my servers, and I still have a FreeBSD desktop at work, but my Mac is my main computer, and I don’t anticipate that changing anytime soon.

Well worth doing, I’m now almost 100% Windows free. I sold all of my PC hardware and now use an iMac and Macbook—if I need to run Windows programs (rarely) then I use a VMware virtual machine.
my fear was that it’d be hard to find good freeware, shareware, and otherwise (cough cough)
turns out not to be true. i am much happier and productive with my computer time now that i’ve made the switch.
highly recommended.
