learn to use my SLR camera

I just found my mom’s Minolta XG9, and all the random crap that she bought years ago to go with it. XD
today we’re going to buy film & use up a few rolls.

I’m playing with my mum’s old Nikon which is about 10 years older than me.. I did photography in year 10 but I’d forgotton just about everything. My friend John and I are going through a few rolls of film, and hopefully some of my shots will be good enough to put in a photo competition I want to enter. Wish me luck :)

I think this goal is going to be moved aside for a while. I’ve been working with a friend’s camera, and it’s just not really an option anymore. Hopefully when I get some money saved up I can buy one of my own, or maybe I could try to borrow my mom’s for a while.

For right now, my little non-SLR digital camera will do, and I can come back to this as soon as things make the goal a little more attainable.

I love it. Film is so fun now instead of being frustrating.

New camera, a D-rebel-xt. Much easier to see the results at the moment, rather than waiting, but also more complicated, and requires more care.

So, step one for the new camera? Reading the manual. I’m going to print it off, and see where it gets me today, er this weekend. I know my camera is way more qualfied than I am.

I know how to focus, and what not, but I see these guys taking super shots, and I wonder what I’m missing. I’m hoping to get a digital rebel as a gift in the near future, I don’t want to be that guy who doesn’t know how to use his top notch camera…
