need to teach ESL kids dance over a 3 week period and be performance ready!

The girls are ready to practice on their own!  — 4 months ago

Worth doing!

Well, I came back on Wednesday and finished teaching them the hard part of the routine, plus the intro, and they already feel comfortable rehearsing it on their own without me! They were so excited, it was great. I’m burning CDs of the song for some of them, which I’ll bring in tomorrow (Friday), and now I just have to finalize the rest of the dance. I’ve changed it so many times I’m not sure where to go with it, but I figure I can let them be a part of the creative process and tell me what they like. I’m so excited for tomorrow! Oh! And I found out they’re doing the dance for Cabaret, which should be sweet & they’ll be able to compete with Show Choir!

I choreographed my first dance!  — 5 months ago

Worth doing!

Just this morning I taught a group of high school girls (Mad City Swing) part of a dance I choreographed for them over the past month or so. It was so much fun! We did warm-ups first, to “I Can’t Go for That” by Hall & Oates, then I taught them a good portion of the hardest part of the dance – which is set to “Work That” by Mary J Blige – about four counts at a time. I didn’t get through as much as I had wanted, but that’s ok it’s a learning experience. Next time I’ll step up the pace. I’ll be coming in to teach them more on Wednesday, and I’m totally looking forward to it. My old choir director (who directs Mad City Swing) says I taught like a pro! Yay! :)

my myspace headline is “dance dance dance and if i have time aftr that, maybe some dance.” i love tap, jazz, modern, and especially ballet, and i can’t think of any better future career than to share my passion with other. performing is good and i want to do that to but i would want to really teach, not just entertain.

Worth doing!

I’ve been dancing fr ten years and I teach the little girls and boys at my dance studio, I get them ready for recital. I wouldn’t send anybody under 10 years old to competition. But when I teach my little girls and boys I always incorperate games into their class. A perfect mixture of games and streatching and technique and their own dance is a perfect class.

I’ve never taught anyone dancing, but I have been dancing for over 4 years (since college). I have a unique style of hip-hop/choreography/and a little breakdancing. I get compliments all the time at clubs from both men and women, but I see some guys sometimes that just stand there not moving… It’s like I would like to help them out but I don’t want them to think of me the wrong way…
