There’s two books in particular I am having trouble reading, I started reading them such a long time ago, I really would like to read them. I think I need to spend more time reading these books in particular before starting any more.

it happens with me so often… i start reading a book, and i’m unable to finish it.
i wanna get past this problem, and i also wanna finish reading all the books i’ve already started
It’s an amazing book. I bought it in May, and I’m not sure why I haven’t finished it yet. To be honest, devoting more time to it would actually knock out two goals in one sitting…
in the last 3 months i have read 4 books. the pile is getting smaller, but i’m no where near finished!!

Just two more to go! Then, I’ll start another one, of course, but these have been hanging over my head forever. What’s that line about it’s the work you haven’t done that wears you out?
I have way too many of these, some of them are so trashy but I should still read them!!
On the list that I can think of are:
Mercy – Jodi Picoult
Belle De Jour – Belle De Jour
Vanishing Acts – Jodi Picoult
We Need to Talk About Kevin – Lionel Shriver
Silent Boy – Torey Hayden
Fast Food Nation – Eric Schlosser
Brick Lane – Monica Ali
Wow, thats more than I thought!
I MUST NOT START A NEW BOOK UNTIL THESE ARE ALL FINISHED!

One of the books I’m trying to finish, “Description,” is so bad I think I’ll stop torturing myself with it. In to the donation pile it goes. Life is too short for bad books.

I’ve been spending my free time cataloging my books instead of reading them, so not a lot of progress on this front. I did find out that I’ve got 124 books on my unread shelf. Not quite sure how that happened. Obviously, I need to stop buying new books and read the ones I have. I do love to shop (curse you 24/7 internet stores, so as an incentive I’ll let myself buy a new book for every one I complete. If nothing else, it will slow down my wild purchasing. I’ve already passed on several eBay auctions of lovely Eaton Press leather bound volumes. Ouch!
I also moved a small corner bookshelf into my office. Now, the books I’ve started are easy to grab whenever I sit down at my desk. I’m not sure if this will help, or just make me feel guilty since I have to look at them all the time. Guess I’ll just have to see how it goes.
