sage advice? Uh…Advice usually tells you more about its giver than anything else.

Once upon a time, Happy Phantom’s sister was organizing a 43Things meet in NYC. I was planning to attend and had hoped to meet HP there. Unfortunately business matters kept her away, but her sister was going to call her from the meet so that we could at least chat with her. When her sister called her though it wasn’t a good time, so I didn’t get to chat with her on the phone even. Someday though we’ll meet. Maybe it will be on a picket line as we work to Save Roe, or maybe I’ll run with her in a race to raise funds for the Chrons and Colitis Foundation. I don’t know when, but I do know we’ll meet someday.

Having successfully paid off my credit card debt, here’s some sage advice for you as you work toward paying off yours. Focus on paying off the card with the highest interest rate first. This is the card that is seeing the largest growth in interest charges, and by paying off the interest each month and taking a chunk of the principal, you’ll see less interest charged each month.

Here are my birthday wishes for you for the coming year. May you continue to find the motivation and energy to exercise at least three times per week, for in so doing you’ll be able to improve your 5k performances. May you make a difference in the lives of the people around you, setting an example for them as you raise funds and awareness of Chron’s and Colitis. And may you never cross the line into political obsession as you continue your mission to save Roe as well as work toward preventing a war with Iran.

Hold on tight to your dreams. Don’t give up on the things that you really want out of life because if you really want it you can make it happen. It may take a little bit of sacrefice but will be worth it in the long run.
