work in a record/bookstore

i worked at two bookstores after i graduated from college (i’m sure my folks were thrilled about that), and i didn’t make a ton of cash, but it was one of the best jobs (or is that two of the best jobs) i’ve ever had.

i have always loved books, and when i get into a bookstore, you might as well leave me in there until the next day. at certain bookstores, they allow you to take books home and read them. it makes sense to have product knowledge, doesn’t it? also, you gotta bring ‘em back. breaks your heart, i know.

you get to meet a lot of interesting people, and you start to develop a routine for who comes in at what time, what books they like, etc. i had fun, as you can tell.

if you get the chance, now that christmas season is upon us, head out to look for a gig because they always need extra help these days. have fun. i did!

borders, or barns and nobles, or chapters, or any awesome bookstore that plays soothing music and has coffee lighting and wood floor.

I work in a record store that also sells music books, in the evenings we’re a guitar school too.
It’s the greatest job I could ever have… well it would be if the pay was any good.
