now that I’m not training for the walking marathon I need to get myself into some sort of class or activity. The bellydancing thing went tits-tup although I did buy myself a bellydance exercise dvd. I wonder if there is a beginner’s running club around here…?

    bellydancing 20 months ago

one of my bosom buddies has signed us up for Bellydancing class. First session starts on 22nd, which I must miss as I’ll be in Birmingham for work (bummer), but ALL others dates I’ve committed to.

why is it 21 months ago

that I have to force myself to exercise when my body type desparately CRAVES exercise and I feel 1000% better when I do? I actually enjoy it once I’m in it, but getting to that point is always such a friggin’ hassle for me. Having this on my daily chart/list helps, but I’m still wishing on a star that one day I’ll wake up and have magically been instilled with motivation.

We’ve gone and done it now: three of my friends and I have offically registered for the Moonwalk Edinburgh 2008, a 26.2 mile overnight charity walk to help fight breast cancer.

The team (“Bosom Buddies”)is going to meet on Saturday to map out a training schedule, brainstorm fundraising ideas, and decide how we want to decorate our walk-bras.

Holy shit. For someone who absolutely HATES having her picture taken, I can’t believe I just committed to walking 26.2 miles in public in my freakin’ bra!

I have not been working on this goal. In fact, with the shite weather, I’d say I’d most likely actually reduced my output.

Now, however, I am going to be committing myself to the weight loss management program which will require a minimum of five days a week for exercise.

I’m scared at the pain that is heading my way. I want to apologize right here and now that I probably won’t be very nice for awhile. I’m hoping to manage this without a lot of pills, and since I’ll be on the diet thingy I won’t be able to consume alcohol either, so I’ll just have to make my way through this. Somehow. Hopefully with my sanity in tact. I’m keeping my focus on the end result, which could potentially mean a serious reduction to my daily pain.

I’m not looking forward to an increase in the pain, or the daily throwing up, or the massive throbbing headaches but knowing that someday I could sit and write a letter for more than 15 minutes without my right side going numb, or walking in the park without fear of losing control of my legs (and running!)—it will make this all worthwhile.

    Uber-defined? 2 years ago

Now that I set myself the goal of 4x week, I guess I need to define what I mean by exercise. And also re-set the target. October pretty much fell apart once I fell apart with grief for my Grandma. Now I’m sort of ‘dealing’ with it better, and I’m also working a new job, so I’m getting out of the house everyday. What I’d really love to do is go running, but alas I cannae do that until the breasts are reduced. I walk about 15-20 miles to week with my normal commute and weekend wanderings, maybe I need to add 4 days a week of something specific like yoga, or bellydancing?

I’ve changed this goal to “exercise 4 times a week”. If I can exercise 4 times each week (beginning October 1st) until the end of 2007, then I will consider this goal accomplished.

so, was I exercising during my stay in Seattle? Haha, right. I DROVE everywhere. Probably why my back has been slow to recover from the May injury.

Anyhoo, got up early on Saturday (waaay too early, you don’t even wanna know how early) and decided to walk to my friend’s flat in Cessnock. From Paisley. It’s only 7 miles and I figured on 2 hours.

I’d only made it an hour before she called, so I hopped on a bus to get there quicker, but I got in nearly 5 miles on Saturday which makes me feel much MUCH better. If the rain lets up I’ll head out for another one this morning.

man, I can’t believe how much easier it is to walk at home than here. Here I drive to the office where I sit until I drive home where I sit unless I’ve gone to class, where I sit. Thankfully I’ve been able to get some walking in on my little photoshoots.

I wonder if the in-activity attributed to my getting sick?

I didn’t think much of my daily walking, but now that I’ve gone a couple of weeks without it I am getting antsy. I plan to take my ass outside tomorrow (Saturday) and make some tracks.
