steam clean the carpet

I did it! It feels so much better now but still smells like pets in some areas. I am so glad that this is over and done with and now its just time to put everything back.

I just spent an hour or two moving the furniture around and then that got me onto doing some much-needed cleaning in the kitchen. I still need to mop the kitchen and entry way.The living room looks so empty! Next I’m going to move things off the floor in the bedroom and then I will tidy up the bathroom and vacuum. I’m HOPING to get the steam cleaner tonight and after I am finished with it, I think I am going to do some dusting and a few small repairs and some laundry. I’m so looking forward to the positivity of a fresh smelling, clean apartment with everything put together and I won’t have to wear socks and slippers all the time anymore because the carpet won’t be gross.

I can’t wait to do this!

Well, getting some money today didn’t happen but that’s okay because I slept too late to get anything done. I talked to the guy with the kennel and he is cool with waiting till I have some money to buy it. I am hoping this will happen before school starts.

I think I may be getting the money necessary for this endevor tomorrow, which includes purchacing a large kennel that I found on Ebay for $60.

I REALLY want to do this. The dog peed on it and I can’t tell where but I can smell it and I hate that my place doesn’t smell fresh. They rent out the contraption at the grocery store but they require a credit card. So I need to get the money to:

rent the machine $30
buy the cleaning and de-stinking solutions $30
find a large dog kennel so it doesn’t happen again.

that won’t happen until larger kitchen renovation at some point in the future.

first i need to clean out the breakfast nook. once that’s done, i can worry about the stove and fridge the day of the cleaning.

I’m thinking carpet steaming has to be done monthly. Unless I become one of those people who make everyone take their shoes off at my door, and I don’t really want to do that.

It was the best $20 ever spent at my local grocery store to rent the machine for 24 hours. I had missed a section of the carpet after steam cleaning it, and there’s still a VISIBLE LINE between the cleaned carpet and the part I missed. That section bugs the heck out of me, so I need to do it again.

that would be the word. I have a $200 steam cleaner, uh, how about I use it….
