My husband and I decided to go to the Phoenix Botanical Garden a couple of weeks ago. It is located in Scottsdale near the zoo. It was absolutely gorgeous. We picked the perfect day to do, it was in the mid 70’s and all the wildflowers were blooming. Beautiful. The park was very well done with so many different plants, flowers, and cacti. There were quails running around and cactus wrens. I just loved this day. 5 years ago

We went to Tonto National Forest a couple times last month to look around, go off-roading, and hike. The Forest is huge so we have barely explored any of it, but what we saw was amazing. The last time we went, we drove in about 3 hours to a sheep bridge over a gorge. It was beautiful with mountains and saguaro cacti all around. The road was all unpaved so 6 hours of driving got a bit old around hour 5, but it was worth it for the spectacular views and great hiking. 5 years ago

We went to the Heard Museum a few weeks back and really enjoyed it. The Heard Museum is a Native American museum in Phoenix. We took a tour and learned all about the tribes in Arizona and their history. We also looked around at the Indian School exhibit, which was very enlightening. I really never knew about the Indian Schools around the country. The artwork at the museum is gorgeous. I really loved looking around and will return many times. 5 years ago

Flagstaff is another place that we have visited often. My husband and I took our first trip together to Flagstaff and I think it may have been the weekend we fell in love (it was probably before that). :)

Flagstaff is very beautiful and the topography is very different than the rest of Arizona. The altitude is higher so it is colder and there are snow peaked mountains, pine trees, and skiing! It feels like you are in Colorado or Lake Tahoe and it is only about an hour and 45 minutes north of Phoenix…incredible! We love going there and looking around the town at all the cute shops. We definitely want to get up there to ski and hike!! 5 years ago

We have been to Sedona several times since we moved here…and several times before that. It is one of my favorite places on earth so far…so breathtaking and almost spiritual in its beauty. We love taking visitors there to see the amazing red rocks and to walk around the quaint little town. Hiking there is also fantastic. Next time we go I would like to check out the galleries in town, they are supposed to be really amazing and they feature a lot of sculptures and native american art. I definitely recommend Sedona to anyone who has the chance to visit. It is definitely worth the trip! 5 years ago
