See both coasts of the United States in the same year

on a few occassions I have seen both coasts on the same day …

Well okay—it was within 6 months. In fall ‘06 took a train to Boston (because we are not pirates, and because we do things,) which became a big event with some of the people we were visiting. So the following summer we took a road trip to the pacific northwest, via Yellowstone.

Also worth noting: that spring break we went to Galveston, TX because it was the closest ocean. So really we saw every water coast that year, not including border great lakes. Next, maybe.
