I had a great time rock climbing today. I’m a little out of practice, and can feel my leg muscles aching at the moment. Everytime I go rock climbing I get a few metres up, then suddenly remember my fear of heights. The trick is to not look down. You’re completely safe at all times, so just keep looking up. If you do what I did, and watch your feet too much you are likely to bump your head into a hold above you. (That quite hurt).
It only cost $15 for the harness and shoe hire and the climb, and there was no time limit, so we kept going until we were too tired to climb anymore.
Here’s a photo of me a few metres up a wall. My legs look weird and twisted, probably because they were :)

I love indoor rock climbing, so I was thrilled to find a place in the middle of the Swiss Alps! (I figured all the climbing would be done outdoors!) It was so much fun. Even my 5+ month pregnant friend joined in. It took about two hours to hike there, and on our way back to the Chalet we stopped at a woodcarver’s place and picked up some one-of-a-kind items. A day I’ll always remember.

This was pretty easy to do if you have a friend who does this. My friend does this all the time. I wish he lived closer and I would do it all the time too.

Its fun – get yourself down to a local centre and book a course – well worth it

Jasher09 living in a world made of dreams she's dreamt. What could be better?
So my friend Miranda basically had to drag me there, but I went, and though it was a little expensive, it was totally worth it. My arms may hurt a little, but I do hope to do it again the next time I have the opportunity.

I’m going with my friend Miranda this Friday. She’s been trying to get me to go with her forever but I’ve never gotten around to it. But this Friday, rock climbing here I come!!! I only hope I can make it at least half way up the wall, haha.

I’m booked to try out the beginner course/lesson in mid-October. Can’t wait!

Well, not exactly, haha.
Did a little roadtrip to Toronto with Tim, Kate, and Patti to meet with Anna, Justin and Jon and go climbing at Rock Oasis. It was PACKED. But it was a nice change from always climbing at Spikes. Plus the floor is squishy, and I got to try bouldering for the first time; it’s HARD. I stuck to mostly 5.6’s and 5.7’s as it was a new gym and I was unfamiliar with it, but I nailed all of them and most likely could have done the 5.8’s (if it weren’t so busy in there!).
I also finally purchased my own gear! I’m now the proud new owner of a gorgeous new harness and super-comfy climbing shoes (well, they’re as comfy as climbing shoes get). So psyched! :)

Completed THREE 5.8’s tonight! :D
Also managed to fall off the wall and try to use my face as a cushion against the wall impact, but who’s counting. We’ll see if I have a nice bruise tomorrow.
