hislilbearrr feels like thrift-store hunting, but shouldn't be spending money
So I totally thought that I was going to have the hardest time finding a dress; for multiple reasons.
1. Budget. I LOVE the big beautiful expensive dresses, but a price tag of $1k+ makes my heart stop beating, and not in a good way.
2. Skintone. I am a very fair-skinned woman, and I was terrified that I wasn’t going to be able to pull off ivory or white.
3. I’m frickin’ picky. lol.
But I’ve been looking around online for awhile now, and on a whim last night Erika, Cailey and I went to David’s Bridal to try on dresses! There is one DB dress that I have been eying, and once I tried it on, I fell in love!
The one that I tried on was a six, smallest that they had in the store in that style. Turns out, I’m smaller than a zero. I’m thinking about buying a size two (because they don’t guarantee how long they’ll carry a dress), and then have it altered closer to the wedding. The date is still a ways away, but I really wanted to have that vision in mind to build around.
It’s beautiful, and it’s totally within my budget, which makes me happier than you can imagine!
What do you guys think? (The back goes down further, I just had a slip on underneath for trying on other dresses!)

I am finally starting to get my wedding planning book together! I started out trying a few different notebooks, but they didn’t seem to work out the way that I had hoped they would. Simply not enough room. So for the time being, I’m using a 1/2” binder. I’m well aware that’s not nearly thick enough, but it was in my room and it was still in good shape! (i.e. no kitty teeth marks yet!) I printed out some wedding planning worksheets. Awhile back I printed out Offbeat Bride’s wedding checklist, and I’ve been answering some of the questions they ask. I also have some guest list worksheets, and I’m going to see what other worksheets I can find!
Any suggestions of things to make sure I put in there?

One thing that I have decided on is our venue. I used to work for the Town of Danville at this facility, and I fell in love. When I started looking around, I realized that pretty much all of the venues in this area have REALLY ugly carpet. lol. So after that, I knew that the beautiful hardwood floors, and park view of Oak Hill Park was the right place for our wedding!

After dating for more than three years, and after knowing each other since we were 8 and 10; we’re finally engaged! I’m doing 99.9% of the wedding planning on my own, and I really think that this will help me be able to keep organized, and this seems like a great way to keep track of ideas! I have SO many things to plan. I know that I still have a lot of time, but it gets me anxious!

The things that my Mum and bridesmaids are saying are already driving me a little crazy – i want to plan MY and H2B’s wedding for us and blushes at selfishness not for them.
Also what’s with all the theme ideas…that’s definitely supposed to be my decision.
Just a bad day to day, will feel better about it all tomorrow.

This weekend we put in the poles to hold up the lights there 15 feet tall, cleaned the house a little and started making the bases for the soups.

have everything ordered. Yea. I just ordered the sky lanterns. I was afraid I would back out and not get them but I decided to splurge because I’ve been doing pretty good on the budget and after all I’m only doing this once. You can see a video of them here

I haven’t made any progress really other than finding my shoes and shirts and ties for the guys. Some of my favorite cousins said they weren’t going to be able to make it so that was a bummer. It just doesn’t feel like it’s so soon.

We are not ready. We have just started getting RSVP’s which is fine there is still 20 days left for that. I just am haveing doubts if we can get it all decorated and everything how I want it. I need about $1,000 more and time for delivery on some of the things. I’m hoping that when I meet with the florist I can drastically cut back the cost and help save some $. I’m glad we are not going into debt for the wedding but it would be a hell of a lot easier.
One good thing is the leaf shaped crackers I’m making for all of the soups are turning out well. They are so cute!
