go back to latin america

get this! my friend jordan just visited me for a week. i have to give some background info. him and i have had a grand friendship since we were five years old. we inspire each other. he didnt graduate high school and tends to be a very, very laid back, generally unmotivated guy. but while he was here, he suddenly got inspired. the bottom line is, im pretty sure hes coming to guatemala with me. he might just stay for two months though.

im stoked to have that sort of impact on his life. hes a really close friend and id love to inspire him with something like that.

okay so i had to make some edits to this. i changed this goal from “go back to south america” to “go back to latin america’ because clearly guatemala is not in south america. second, i will NOT be working on sustainable forestry but rather forestry management. big difference, in case you arent familiar with the latest buzzwords, as “sustainable forestry” is basically logging where “forestry management” is conservation. anyways, im still awaiting to figure out my plans, but as soon as i do ill post them here!

im definitely going to be in south america sometime soon. if i get accepted into university for the spring, ill wait until the summer to go to rural northern guatemala for 3 months to work on sustainable forestry and environmental education. if i dont get accepted into uw, ill leave sometime in march, and ill do a yearlong project in south america. so ill know my plan sometime within a month, when i hear from the university!
