buy a bottle of champagne and look at it every day until I think of something to do that would lead to something that could be celebrated by opening a bottle of champagne

I know when and on what occasion I will be opening the bottle of champagne. Should I blab now, or should I keep it a secret until it is opened?

It is one of great hopefulness.

I have the bottle in the fridge right now. It is next to the milk, so I see it all the time. It’s a blanc de noir, a brut.

I have some ideas as to when it might open; not yet, not yet…

finally materialized, almost a week late (it was a difficult birth)......but the wine was even more delicious.

a couple of years ago when I was trying to seduce my gym instructress. I bought 2 bottles (to make sure) and hid them in the basement. Unfortunately, they were found by ‘someone else’ and I was forced to invent a different story.

I’m presently nursing a bottle of red wine I bought last week expecting good news on the Friday. The good news never materialized and now I’m stuck with an expensive bottle of Côtes du Rhone on my hands. Any thoughts ?
