How I did it: I (literally) wouldn't have survived junior year had I not transferred schools. I suffer from severe mental health issues, and for much of my high school career, I've been on and off of suicide watch, and I've been hospitalized in a psychiatric facility.
A major factor which fueled my depression was attending a high school where I was unwanted and disliked. I came out of the closet the end of my sophomore year, and thereafter experience tons of unnecessary harassment, bullying, death threats and other childish behavior.
This was, without a doubt, one of the lowest points in my life, and I was in a very dark place (cliche, I know), and I just knew I couldn't handle it anymore, so I ended up dropping out of (or withdrawing, as my mother would encourage me to say) from my previous high school, being home schooled, and then eventually transferring to my current high school.
The readjustment was intense, I must say, and the road to where I am now proved to be a serious challenge; but hey, I survived. Now all I've left is to survive college apps and senioritis, and hope to get into a decent film school. Ahh, the sweet aroma of stress. Read how I did it… 22 months ago
