I’m too used to going to bed really really late and sleeping in at the other end (if possible). I always feel like I have so much to do and the prospect of sleep seemes boring. Which seems funny because once I’m tucked into bed, there’s no other place I’d rather be! I want to try and get into a routine of going to bed before midnight (unless I’m out) on a regular basis. Hopefully that will lead to waking up earlier in the morning too, so I have a much longer and productive day! 4 years ago

Hmmm…where did it go? No idea. I haven’t thought of it in weeks! So much for that idea! I have a new job I start on Monday, so hopefully that’ll motivate me to get out of bed in the morning. That was part of the problem before- I knew I didn’t have to be there on time, but now I will.
Lately I’ve had a really hard time getting to sleep again. I used to have this problem, but not so much anymore until recently. We’ve started watching movies in our room before bed instead of the living room, so last night I decided we’d stop doing that for a while and see if it helps, because they always say you should only use your bed for sleeping and not for eating or watching tv or anything else. We’ll see if it helps.

I was keeping to my schedule pretty well until yesterday. I didn’t get up until 12 or 12:30 (don’t remember exactly), which caused me to not be tired last night, so I went to sleep at 1:00 and didn’t get up until about 7:30-7:45.
Today is always another day, so I’ll work on getting back on track. 5 years ago

The good- I went to bed at 11:30 last night, which 30 minutes before my must sleep time.
The bad- I woke up at 7:30, which is 30 minutes PAST my must wake up time.
We’ll see how it goes tomorrow. 5 years ago

I haven’t really been concentrating on this goal much, but my sleeping has gotten crazier lately. I have stayed up all night and into the next night a few times in the past months, and I didn’t go to sleep until 8:30am on Monday night. I hate being so screwed up, so I’m making this my New Year’s resolution. I’m going to start off “simple.”
For the first month my plan is…
Go to bed every night by 12 at the latest.
During the week, get up by at least 7am
On the weekend, get up by 11am
After the first month, I’ll move the times closer to what I’d like them to be in the end, which I’m not sure what that is yet. If I do really well, I might change the time earlier, but I’m trying baby steps, because nothing else seems to work. 5 years ago

I’m really hoping this extra hour on Sunday will help me out a little. That and I’ve started taking ginseng, so maybe I’ll have more energy. 5 years ago

I have actually seemed to find a somewhat normal sleep schedule. It’s not a great schedule, but it is regular.
I’ve been going to bed between midnight and 3am and getting up at about 10:45am everyday.
Of course, I’m still getting up at between 5-6 am every morning to potty and take pills. And there’s some mornings I get up with Kevin, come home and go back to bed.
But, it’s that I’m getting up at about the same time every morning that I’m liking. I’m also not getting up after noon. As long as I’m getting enough sleep and am up befor noon, I’m happy!

or maybe I just don’t have the willpower to do what I have to do to get it done. I always stay up too late and then have to force myself to get up in the morning, because I want more sleep. 5 years ago

not on this goal, but just on keeping track of the times I wake up and go to sleep. I did that for a few weeks, so now I have an idea of how much sleep I’ve been getting and my “normal” times for getting up/going to sleep (which don’t seem to have any pattern at all….thus the problem!).
I’ve decided that the next step for this goal is to make myself get up at the same time every morning, at least during the week. I don’t think I’m going to worry about trying too hard with this part right now, since I only have three days until I go on vacation, and then my schedule will be different.
So, when I get back, I’m going to aim for getting up at 6am every morning and going to sleep by 11:30pm at the latest but hopefully before. 5 years ago

My problem….I hate going to sleep and I hate waking up. I never want to go to sleep in the first place, but once I’m asleep, I don’t want to get up. I don’t mind going to bed late and getting up late sometimes, but I wish I could get more sleep sometimes. I’m late to work a lot because I just can’t drag myself out of bed or I get up in plenty of time, but I’m so slow that it takes me too long to get ready and leave.
I’m going to start keeping up with the times I go to sleep and get up in the morning and then set small goals to work towards. Small goals at a time are much more realistic and less overwhelming.

It seems stupid to complain about sleeping too much – after all, sleep is very nice. The fact of the matter is that I go to bed too late and then get up too late, and when the sun goes down around 5PM anyhow there’s not that much that I can really “get done” in one day.
So I’ve determined that I’m going to go to bed at 11 or earlier every night and try to get up by 6 AM. I’ve gotten some soporific tea to help me go to sleep, and I’ve heard that apples are even better than coffee at waking you up in the morning. We shall see. 6 years ago
