I found the Treasure I wanted to post about.
I think it looks like the moon. When I first moved here, I went to the bay {ocean} at least 2-3 times a week. It was my solitude.
I found this pretty early. I wanted to have a hole drilled in it so I could wear it. But was to afraid of breaking it. It’s such a thin shell.
I know the picture is not the best in the world, just pretend will ya, I’m sensitive today.
I know they’re manufactured but I love the Linde star sapphires! I have a ring that my folks had made for my 18th birthday that’s precious to me. It has a white gold band, Linde star sapphire in the center & a bunch 2 pt. diamonds around it that came from my Mom’s wedding band.
At 18 I was beside myself that they would create such a wonderful piece just for me!! Over the years the sapphire has gotten chipped and it sits in my jewelry box because it needs to be resized for my bigger adult fingers. None the less it’s priceless!!
Side note: I took Mom’s original wedding set, had new stones set and it’s now my wedding ring! I guess that’s another precious object…
Don’t get me wrong – diamonds are still a girls best friend but I love me some opals! I think it started because my Mom’s birthday was in October and Grandma (Mom’s Mom) gave her the neatest opal pendant with all these little stones combined together. Since it was kind of big (and a little gaudy if I’m honest) Mom gave it to me. I treasured that thing for years. Staring at the shimmer of the stones was entrancing. When Mom died I had family members tell me that the opals held spirits and Mom would be with me always. It creeped me out to be honest but it made me look at the stones in a different way too…
Since it’s bad luck to buy yourself opals I never had any other pieces. I know it’s an old wives tale but I wasn’t taking chances, LOL!
While D & I were holed up in our honeymoon hotel room (you know between all that usual honeymoon stuff) I flipped through the funky Vegas magazines they leave in your room and found a huge ad for Opals & Gems of Australia inside Caesars Palace. I got my pipe dream on looking at all those beautiful stones! Well, as our trip drew to an end we decided to walk the strip & we wound up inside Caesars checking out the shops. D dragged me into the store while I protested – we didn’t have the money, why was he torturing me, etc… He told me to go in there & pick anything I wanted. Anything? He had to be joking! So to call his bluff I tried on a few pieces until I found the most gorgeous ring in white gold. It had the perfect stone and it actually fit! That man of mine pulled out his credit card and bought that ring for me on the spot! =)
mainly as a reminder to me to post for Seren, but if you want to post something here, or under her goal, please feel free!

I can’t come up with that many good questions if I tried.
But, I am completely fascinated by other peoples favorite things.
I would like to know your favorite Gem or stone, it could be something on your wall, just what is an object that is so precious to you and if you would be so good to me. Show a picture and tell me why.
I know that I have more than one, so I expect more than one. You can list them together or make a separate comment. I just think this is so interesting. I know not every one has crystals.
That is why I am leaving this as a pretty open thing.
I’ve had some great suggestions about jewelry… but that is not what it has to be. Mine soon as I can take the picture is of a shell.
Hopefully others will find this interesting, won’t it just suck and bad, if no one plays with me… LMFAO
I’ll post mine in the comments or at least the first one. Maybe I’ll do another entry for the second and we could do it that way.
I have to go and finish making biscuits. Be back soon.
