I am back from Beijing, China. It was cold but blue skies the entire time. It was interesting to say the least. It is said that you cannot go into another culture without having an impact on it or vice versa. Let’s hope that is true. Here are the places I visited:
-Tiananmen Square
-Forbidden City
-Temple of Heaven
-Summer Palace
-Yonghegong (Lama Temple)
-Beijing Zoo (saw the pandas!)
-Ming Dynasty Tombs
-Wangfujing shopping district
-Beijing Acrobat Show and of course:
-Great Wall (Badaling section)

It is Dec 25. My flight to China is Dec 27 and I admit that I am nervous. China will be different from any country I have ever been before (let’s admit it, I am a Europe kind of girl). Not speaking the language is my main concern because the characters are so different. Is China really the place for a Europe type of girl to travel alone? We will see….
Next year, Africa (I hope)

Today I booked by trip to Beijing, China! I also spent a hour at the Chinese consulate applying for a visa. I found the process very easy (visa cost: $100).
