How I did it: I had two books to read and do a review on. One was I know Why the Caged Bird Sings by Maya Angelou. This book was really good and I recommend it. Another was The Autobiography of Malcolm X which made me feel terrible for being white...shocker huh? I'd never expect a book to create such feelings within myself. So I finished I know Why the Caged Bird Sings over the summer and started Malcolm X. I really got into finishing that book two days before school. I read all day and all night with no sleep on saturday. Then I stupidly took like a 5 hour break and wasn't even 3/4 done. I worked the rest of the day and did another all-nighter to do the paper and I finished with enough time to take a shower and get ready to leave for school. I think I did pretty good on my paper.
Lessons & tips: Start EARLY try to finish all of it within the first month of summer. That way you can attend all the end of the summer parties and the fair well party for your Canadian friend whose visa expired. None of the above I was able to do because I waited so long.
Resources: ...spark notes....okay I only used it to find which event happened in which chapter so I could write down the pages but if you're not cheating then sparknotes is really good.

I am almost done with one of the books for english, I have two books and three weeks until school. thank god I’m a fast reader (my only talent) I started studying french since I’m taking french 2 next year, this isn’t homework but a must do since I took french 1 in freshman year and next year is my junior year so there is a gap.
Right now i have English done, Geometery half-way done, and two more projects for History. I’ll probrably get help from my friend at swim team practice for math, and I’ll have to finish my history projects before I leave for vacation.
Finished my first book…only three books and two essays left! Guess it’s better than the last two weeks of summer XD

so i was almost there just had 3 more hours of math to do but i never got around to doing it. but what is the consequence? its not like we get grades for summer homework! still have to get some newspaper articles together but that wont take long.

well i am getting closer. i finished reading the books in the car and now i just have to do 3 more hours of math in, lets see, 7 DAYS!!

im taking an “AP” US Studies class which i only took bc were going to DC to watch the presidential inauguration in january. anyway AP stands for Advanced Placement which basically means that the credits i recieve also count as college credits and at the end of the year i can take a test and try to be top in my class AP-wise. i think.
but it came with a truckload of summer homework. i have to read the Crucible and write a paper on it, read Founding Fathers and write a paper on it, watch the Last of the Mohicans and write a paper on it, work the gates a day at the fair, and read 4 chapters out of a textbook.
school starts on september 3rd and right now im halfway through the Crucible.

Ahhh I’m starting to freak out, I have five chapters in my history book (plus notes), a report, and a worksheat, all due in the first week of school, all of which I haven’t started!!!
I’ve never had a whole day to spare after doing summer homework and before going back to school. It felt good. Especially b/c now I can go to bed early and not be scribbling shit down till 2 am.
PS. I am now a pagan: I worship all Spark Notes. Try it.
FINALLY. Never again will I have to endure the shackles of SUMMER HOMEWORK. I am a free woman!
