participate in a home exchange with someone in another country

I really want to do this one but I am the World’s muckiest pup and I’m afraid to live anywhere else. Even though I have the tidiest star sign I have somehow mislaid the domestic gene and find it impossible to be tidy. One very nice electrician told me once that being untidy showed a high intelligence with more important things – he was really cute too but I never saw him again instead I get a best friend who looks in horror at my mess even though he’s not much better! When I do this I probably won’t unpack!!

It could have happened by now but as I am saving money for my masters, I won’t be buying any house soon so it gotta wait! :)

I was interviewed by the local paper about home swapping, since I’m a member of homeexchange.com. One of the mods of the site suggested that I starting sending out inquiries to people in the areas that I want to visit. Yesterday, I sent out my first one to someone in London, England.

I’m getting views on my place every day on the website I signed up for to do this home exchange thing.

The woman that contacted me about staying in my place needed to come in mid-April, which doesn’t work for me. I wish I could’ve accommodated her because 1) a Florida vacation would’ve been nice and 2) she needed to take her child to Children’s.

I hope she is able to find what she needs.

I received my first email through homeexchange.com. It was a little weird – I’m not sure it’s someone that’s actually interested in exchanging. I know that doesn’t make a lot of sense, but I’m just not sure yet.

However, it was still exciting! The location was Florida. :)

3 days ago, I’d had 16 views. Now, I have over 65! No one has emailed me yet, but I only have one picture up. I also haven’t done any emailing listings to see if anyone is interested in coming to visit my little town.

I updated my listing on the website to include information about the city I live in and my place.

I’ve had 16 views so far, which seems pretty amazing, considering I live “off the beaten path.”

I’ve taken a step toward this goal by signing up for a paid membership to homeexchange.com. They are about to raise their membership prices, so I had to! Plus, I had a $20 discount code.

Once I get my house cleaned up, I’m planning on subscribing to homeexchange.com. I really want to go to Italy right now, but anywhere that is reasonably safe is also a perfectly acceptable destination.

This is something I hope to accomplish within a year.
