but I got some new cutlery today, very cheaply 2nd hand & now I can donate my plastic handled cutlery set I bought years ago but have never really liked…
So that’s a little less soul-less plastic in my daily life :D

I’m selling off a lot of my music collection very cheaply in favour of going digital. I’ve started using iTunes to purchase music digitally and I think that is what will work for me.
I do LOVE album art, which is the only downside.
Less plastic CD cases is a huge plus.

I’ve decided that I would like to replace my current sewing PLASTIC boxes with something like a big wooden chest or something a bit more organic… I’m open minded but the plastic is soul-less. It’s not a huge priority but something to think about. Been going through the art cupboard stuff, making progress there too :)

okay, so!
When I started this goal, I lived in a different house.
And now that I’ve been in my current one about 3 months (where did that time go…?) I think it is time to re-assess room by room as I did in the last one.
It shouldn’t really be all that different really… it’s not like I’ve gone out & got a whole lot of plastic since.
But the room by room method was good.
So right now I am in the study.
The only things I can think of in this room that could be changed are:
plastic drink bottle (i have glass that I could use instead)
storing cd’s with back ups etc in a cd wallet instead of cases. Find new use for cases potentially by giving away or replacing very cracked cases of music cd’s & recycling the broken ones – (hopefully this is possible)
Sort through things currently kept in plastic bags in the cupboard & rationalise & re-store.
And that is that!

so since I resolved not to bring plastic curry containers into the house we haven’t – yay!
Food is a huge source of plastic with all the packaging & even though we recycle all we can, there is a lot that has to go in the bin. grr. We do buy a lot of bulk food that we get in paper bags but there are things like bread, herbs, & others that come in plastic. I would like to bake our own bread regularly so that is something that would make a difference.
There’s always more to do!!

so as I was cleaning in the kitchen tonight I kept seeing all of the plastic containers from packaging that are in our kitchen. We keep them and re-use them as much as possible but I think we need to STOP bringing them into the house in the first place. I declare: no more take out curry!! If we’re going to have curry out we have to go to a restaurant!

Tonight I check the bathroom for unnecessary plastic!
Discaimer Back in business
Oil is too valuable and getting rarer . I’m starting to think plastics are irresponsible .

& I’ve listed a few changes. It’s quite weird but there is a bit less plastic in my life than I thought, well in the lounge anyway. So I really need to sort the cupboard & make a few small changes. Quite a lot of the things cannot really be changed, technological items!
Next room: Bathroom!
