How to create a photo wall in my house
How I did it: Just went through a bunch of old photos of myself and my friends and tacked them up on the wall. Feels good to get it done. And I have something to look at that reminds me of good times.

Have tons of polaroids, was thinking of making an invisible grid and just putting them on the wall…
I have bought all new wooden frames of different sizes to put in my fav photos. Now to put in the photos then find a good spot for them.
To go along with my photography hobby and need to organize thousands of pictures, I will create a photo wall in my home office. I’m thinking about a DIY project (Wood Magazine, four-in-one photo frame – December/January 2004/2005, page 85) to make a series of matching frames that would tie nicely with the woodwork in the office. I need to examine lighting of the photos as well. Perhaps via track lighting?
A related note, in the movie, “What Women Want”, Helen Hunt’s office has a photo wall, with a bold red background with shiny black frames. It was a very cool backdrop and gives the photo wall a lot of punch.
Our family room had a cabinet in it… the former owners used it as a tv cabinet. It was drafty and useless to us, so we removed it and put sheetrock over the hole. Now we have this bare wall.
Since a family room should have family photos, that’s what I want to put there. Coming up with a design is going to be tough, though.
we had a bare wall in our corridor and a load of old photos, mostly of me and my brother when we were little. So… we dug out a load of old frames and got on with it. It looks great! visitors like to look at them… i think… and we add to it every year. :) I’d say do it!

I’ve made remarkable progress toward this goal over the weekend. We went to visit both sets of parents and I scanned and copied a mountain of old photographs. By the way, I recommend using the Eckerd photo scanner over Walmart’s. I also picked up a lot of frames at Ross. My stepmother and I spent the afternoon scraping off price stickers and putting pictures in frames. Now that I’m home, all I need to do is either buy some crown molding ledges or just hang them in a pleasing layout. YAY!

I’ve been wanting to gather up black and white photographs of our parents and relatives for a long time. My husband and I don’t live near our families, and it would be nice to see their faces everyday. I particularly want photos of them when they were younger.
