And she was like, ”...” is the worst!
And then she said, ”...” would be so much better. Why, why can’t I do this most of the time?
I’ve been paying attention when people give speeches, in class. SO many kids say like every few words. It makes me feel better about having this as a goal.
I just need to think before I talk more.

This is a terrible habit and i can’t string a sentence together without at least 3 ‘likes’ in there.

I’ve been wanting to do this for a very long time, I just can’t seem to “grab” it. It’s kind of difficult in a highschool situation, cause everyone else is doing it so you start to without knowing it.

Grr, I still haven’t completely killed this one. It’s SO hard to pick yourself up on it! But I think I’m much better than I used to be. What I’d really like to do now is get rid of ‘um’!

I tried to say the word “say” instead of like (for example “she was like ‘blah blah’”. I slipped up a few times, but it is getting better.

I’m not a valley girl. I’m not an idiot. I’m reasonably – no, actually, in truth I’m unusually eloquent for a teenager.
But I’m still, like, over-dependent? And I’ve caught myself doing that thing where I turn every sentence into a question?

this is an impossible goal. I can’t just like stop using my favorite word.
