get my book in the mail by February 1 + 10

and received a nice “of course, anything for you” reply. So I am breathing easier . . . but not going to make the Feb 1 deadline.

Drat. I never used to need deadline extensions.

I am a basket case. I put this off, I spend time dreading it and getting nervous, and yet, when I actually get to work, I enjoy it.

I have just not been able to get into a routine, and that is essential. At home, I am distracted and have too much to do. In my office, someone always interrupts with something that I consider important enough to stop for. The best writing sessions I have had are on my laptop while my students were taking a test.

One week to go . . . two chapters unfinished . . . yikes.

Maybe I could give a test every day this week . . .

it yells, pounds its fist, and looks pointedly at its watch.

So I am dropping everything that I can to get this done.
