I completely forgot to mark this as done! I submitted and all 3 of my pieces were accepted. I got them matted at Hobby Lobby by the most kick ass guy in the framing department and they were shown in the cafeteria along with all the others that had been accepted.
When I took them in to be hung the girl who organized the show recognized one of my pieces, knew it by TITLE, and said it had been one of their favorites. She also told me when I picked them up after the show that they’d gotten several compliments. So that made me feel awesome.
I submitted 2 inked pieces, one of a tabby and one an abstract, and a penciled sketch of my boyfriend sleeping. All of them were work I’d done for design class last semester.
If there’s one next year I’ll definitely submit again.

I need to have “white hinged matting” for my submissions, so a trip to Hobby Lobby is apparently in order. I also have to decide which works to submit! Bah.

You never know if you don’t try, right?
