I laugh, a lot! Ask anyone who knows me. I smile, laugh, and joke around on a daily basis. I guess I’m just naturally a happy person :D Anywho, it feels great to just have that one laugh where you are literally on the floor, crying and to the point where you are seriously going to pee yourself if you don’t stop! It sounds really neratic and messy, I know .-. It’s just great to have someone say or do something hilarious and just be able to look back and say “Damn, that was the greatest laugh of all time.”

Well, I would like to have someone be able to crack me up at least to the point of me getting tears in my eyes. I, for one, have done that to a lot of people and most of my friends are funny but, not “OHMYGOD! STOP TALKING, YOU ARE GOING TO MAKE ME PEE MYSELF!” kind of funny. They’re just inside joke, goody, corny kind of funny. I’ve only had a few really memorable laughs in my time. I would like to change that and have a bit more fun everyday. Try to do something drastic and adventuries to where I CAN have that kind of laugh.

I know I’m making a big deal out of this but, laughing is pretty much my crack…besides Jomba Juice. Yummy :D

No Joke: i do make a point of this…

....in my ever striving efforts to live a holistic, sane & spiritually balanced life,,,,i had long noticed that the people i knew who were the most content, generally not depressed, or able to come back easier from life’s troubles, took the time to laugh, laughed at every opportunity. They didnot hold themselves stiffly, they did not hold back distainfully stating, “Thats not funny”. If they didnt care for what was said, they made a bigger joke, and laughed at that. It was a mindset, an attitude toward life.

So in the years that i’ve lived on my own, i’ve strived to make this a part of every day. I own a huge collection of comedy tapes from Gallegher to Bill Cosby, and often have one playing while working on the computer or taking care of things around the apartment. When i had cable, it was watching Jon Stewart everynight before i went to bed, now its Criag Ferguson and “Sex in the City”. I make it a rule to watch/listen to something fuuny at then end of each day—even if its as absurdistly silly (& wonderful!) as the “World News Polka”. (i dont understand people who watch some horrible bit of news on CNN, then wonder why they cant sleep. What exactly do they expect to do toward the worlds tragedies while they sleep?? They’ll be time in the morning to focus on the world’s sorrows)

But i’m always looking for those little things to find humor in throughout the day…

i may keep a running daily list…Yesterday it was Hugh Laurie’s line ”’Them puppies look ready to go into the Dairy business…”, on “House” that had me laughing(you hafta know the character :) Last week it was my blind date’s irrevent profile comment on being manly “I cook 30 minute brownies in 20 minutes!” (lol!) Today it was the kittens playing hide & seek in my duvet cover, popping their heads out from beneath covers, that kept me laughing all day… Besides laughing at my own human idiocy on a daily basis. Its those little things that pull us thru, and do well when we pay attention to them….

    Favourite Quote:

Blessed are those who can laugh at themselves, for they shall never cease to be amused…”

    :D

if it wasn’t for my classmate, i dont think i would have been able to do this. lol. once she laughs, it never ends. the whole class goes into hysterics. i dont know what we would do without her, go on anti-depressants(sp?) perhaps? go figure.

A nice, calm, and respectable woman went into a pharmacy, looked the pharmacist straight into his eyes, and said, “I would like to buy some cyanide.”

The pharmacist asked, “Why in the world do you need cyanide?” The woman replied, “I need it to poison my husband.” The pharmacist’s eyes got big, and he exclaimed, “Lord, have mercy! I can’t give you cyanide to kill your husband! That’s against the law! I’ll lose my license! They’ll throw both of us in jail! All kinds of bad things will happen! No! You CANNOT have any cyanide!”

The woman reached into her purse and pulled out a picture of her husband in bed with the pharmacist’s wife. The pharmacist looked at the picture and replied, “Well, now, that’s different. You didn’t tell me you had a prescription.”

I think this is how I've made my way through life to this day 3 years ago

The other day, I started to teach the immigrant workers at the lunch tables the Lumberjack Song.

I’ve been playing Chumbawumba’s “but I get up again” song every day during this difficult week at work.

Yesterday, I avoided that object in the road. And then I cheered the small turtle who made it across the road.

I laugh with my son when he stands on the bench and leans on the fridge, and says he is a bridge, and the space under him is a tunnel.

Laughing is a feel-good activity. I love to laugh and laughing often is especially great. I particularly enjoy laughs where you feel like you’re on the brink of losing all control, like you’re about to burst perhaps.

Get cats and watch them fall off things. Have tickle fights with your little sister. Be drunk and silly with your best friend. Learn to roller skate (wear pads) and have the sense to laugh at yourself when you fall down. Make faces at someone during a serious lecture. Oh, my god, my life is noticeably better now I consciously do this. If it is getting near the end of the days and I am sulky, I just read a few chapters of a Terry Pratchett book or call my mom and demand a joke.
