laugh one really good laugh at least once a day

Received following an incident, where a car’s rear window broke in office parking lot.

I understand that the rumors are already going around that it was an attempted theft or vandal who broke the window mentioned below.

Upon doing a little research into the situation at hand, it is evident that this window was broken by a falling Pinecone likely chewed lose by a fugitive Squirrel.

Evidence (Pinecone) was left at the scene but the fugitive Squirrel did manage to elude us once again and remains at large.

We always regret when a staff members personal property is damaged while on our campus, however, we hope that you understand as unfortunate as this is, we cannot control situations such as this which are caused by the great Mother Nature.

As we move into the winter season we always risk, due to the combination of water saturation and stormy conditions, the chance of falling branches or uprooted trees.

I can assure you that regardless of the measures taken toward arbor maintenance such as, bi-annual trimming and in some cases complete removal of ailing arbors, no matter how diligent we try, it is unlikely that we will ever win the battle with Mother Nature to totally control situations like this from happening now or in the future.

If you are concerned and would like to increase your potential to avoid such an incident involving your own personal property, I recommend you always use caution and be aware of the conditions and surroundings for where you choose to park your vehicle and make the necessary adjustments accordingly.
