leave my city once a month, leave my country once a year

it made me cry for sheer pride and pleasure in how this guy just went around the world, went everywhere conceivable, forming these momentary bonds. First it made me laugh, and then it made me cry. There’s something so profoundly beautiful about someone going out into the world and engaging. I want to be that sort of person, even if it’s in a much smaller way.

So it was Stirling at the beginning of the month and now Edinburgh at the end, i guess that compensates for missing out a few months eariler in the year. Off to America in July so thats me leaving the country :)

Went to the Pooraka markets, have never seen them before – quite large really. Pity by the time I got out of bed they were commencing the pack up, but I think I will go back again.

Time is a-running out and I’ve been slack!! Somewhere this weekend I must go….

Playing a sport like Gridiron (american footbal) in Australia certinaly ensures I got out of the city once a week. Because it involves travelling all around to state to play on different fields.

I also recently had a long weekend so I went back to my old hometown which was nice and relaxing.

The Vietnam trip is nerely full steam ahead. Should receive my travel Visa next week, and since it is all paid I just need to play the waiting game.

went to Stirling for the day, only spent a few hours there but it was still good. Seen lots of the countryside form the train though.

Went up to Hallett Cove and wandered thru the Conservation Park and the beach… Love that place.

Headed to Chicago, IL and Cedar Rapids, IA later this month! Can’t wait!

We went to Chicago this past weekend for a very brief look around. Rode the train so smaller eco footprint there. And in Chicago we rode the L. Awesome, I wish we had better public transportation here.

Could have gone to St. Andrews yesterday but was talked out of it cause since it is a small town and it was the bank holiday weekend “apparently” everywhere would be closed so would would just be hanging around doing nothing for ages. Wish i still went though, never been there before so would have been nice to see.

Maaybe thts why i’ve not been doing too well with this goal. Been out the city once this year, but at least i’m leaving the country in July.
But since i’ve got so long off before term starts again, maybe i can make up for it by taking lots of trips during the summer. Missed 4 months, then theres another 4 months before back to uni. 8 trips in 4 months…it is possible to do, but will I? hmmm
