I graduated Wednesday and was valedictorian, yay! I just have four more classes to make up. My classmates and I are going to have study groups too. I want us to sort out together how long we ought to study before taking the test… and I’m also not positive which test I am going to take, not that my state has suddenly opened up our options. But I’ll be an LMT very soon either way…

I passed all my tests, paid the licensing fee, and I now have my license in Massage Therapy (as of the beginning of Oct)!

Yesterday was the big day for my practical licensing exam. I don’t know if I passed, but at the same time I feel as though everything went virtually perfect. But you just can’t count the chicken before the eggs hatch, right? So I’m not going to just assume I have it in the bag.
Anyhow, I’m hoping to hear the results soon. Could take up to 30 days, but not likely. Provided I passed, I should get an application back in order to become licensed. Once I have my hot little license in my hand, this goal will be finito!

As of a week or two ago, I am officially done with the one year LMT program at COCC. I’ve decided to change directions and NOT get my AAS degree in Massage Therapy. I still plan to get licensed as a Massage Therapist, but I’ve now decided to get a full on Bachelor’s in Exercise Science and Nutrition. :)
Anyhow, back to the goal at hand. Yesterday I took the “written” portion of the exam to get licensed called the MBLEx. I passed with flying colors! Also, I sent my paperwork out on Monday applying for the practical portion of the exam. I’m so close to being licensed I can almost taste it.

I am finished with the LMT program in two weeks. After that, I am free to attempt to get licensed at any time. :)

Summer term left and then I can attempt to get licensed by the state … This is all provided there’s still a licensing board in Oregon by that time. There’s a chance OBMT will be suspended until further notice to help balance Oregon’s budget. Hmmm.
Anyhow, by August or September this goal could be a reality. :)

Well, two of four for my licensing anyhow. I’ll be taking another three after that to finish out the degree.
Anyway – so it’s official, 12 credits (3 classes) resulting in all A’s. I wonder if I can keep this up. We’ll see.
Quarter three starts Monday. Next up is Massage II, Clinic I, Pathology and Kinesiology III.

At last post, I had just finished finals in my 1st quarter. As an update, I scored all A’s and made the Dean’s List. :)
However, this quarter has been odd at the very least. We lost our program director (whom also was teaching a few of the classes) out of nowhere. One day he was with us and everything was fine, the next he gave his resignation – never to be seen at the college again. (I have my theories on what REALLY happened.) Anyhow, the new temp director is clearly scrambling to pull everything together, but understandably so. Regardless, it’s left the program in one heck of a scattered mess. I still intend to finish out my one year certification (finishing at the end of summer term), but will only decide to proceed with the second year if things start to fall back into order there.
Anyhow, midterms are this week and so far so good! Still on track with this goal…

I have officially finished 1st quarter as of six o’clock this evening. Finals are done and I know I passed all my classes. Here I am already eager for next quarter … my books have been purchased and perused (not just glanced at). ;)
Winter term starts Jan 5!

Mid Terms are next week for first quarter. A milestone of sorts I suppose.
I’m absolutely loving my classes still. Each day that love intensifies … almost like falling in love with a lover or child I suppose (and only as a loose comparison). Memorization of the meridians and tsubos are coming along well … but remembering their specific purposes are requiring a bit more work. :)
