Finding out what my personal style is exactly.
Getting rid of all the stuff in my closet that looks like crap on me.
Finding fun colors and clothing that fits.
Being ok with spending a little more money on myself and how I look.
Taking time and effort to care for my clothing.

Wow, even though I haven’t been keeping track here, I’ve been working on switching my deressing style. I actually got told I dress beautifully! I haven’t heard that in years! Yayness!
I actually went to Kohl’s and bought some clothing off the rack. All on sale, though, I couldn’t get myself to pay retail.
As I have to get a new job, one supposes clothing for a more formal enviornment is necessary.
It’s surprisingly cool stuff.

I now pass the discount clothing store with the cool stuff.
I haven’t found the “panache” jacket I’m looking for, but I figure I’m improving my radar.
I also looked at shoes today.
I’ve also started watching Project Runway, in part because I find Tim Gunn the teacher I wish I’d had in grad school…though I had some good ones.

They’re both vintage looking without being vintage.
I used to wear a LOT of vintage clothing, way, way back in the day. My friend Paula ran a great store in Pittsburgh for many years, and I bought lots of clothes there.
And I may plunge back into it, but in the meantime, I’m trying to keep the image of these two suits in my head, while I also look for thick wedgy but not high heeled shoes and tights…I’m really tired of my black jeans and comfy LL Bean top being my uniform 24/7. 2006, let this be the year of the anti-rut.
Slowly but surely I have expanded my horizons to new pieces of clothing. I feel that my clothing now expresses who I am a bit more than before and the pieces are a bit more flattering.
This has been marked as ‘finished’ as I have heard for the 3rd time now ‘you always look so well put together.’
