I'll do a walk tonight...  — 4 months ago

and then rest up tomorrow. Saturday morning is the race. I don’t think I’ll make my goal this year, because I hurt myself by falling after my ankle gave way unexpectedly early this week. But, with the support of my coworkers and Todd, I know I’ll be able to finish the race. I know that next year, I should have an awesome time, because between this year and next year’s races I plan to start running some.

Worth doing!

1:46:52, 5.57 mi, 867.3 cal

Information from my pedometer. Sometimes I’m so glad that I have a trainer who gets me out of my apartment and into my walk. Tonight he was really good to me and made me walk for the first hour. The rest I had enough motivation to do on my own.

I've been told this morning...  — 4 months ago

by my podiatrist that I must go shoe shopping this afternoon and get new shoes. I didn’t realize it but my left shoe is broken down where I just so happen to have a pretty nice blister. (I hate shoe shopping, and hope I can get as good of a deal as I did last year about this time due to a similar situation.)

Well, let’s just say I had something come up that really made me highly upset with work today and I used this to work off some of my anger. I walked 1:35:21, 5.47 miles, burning off 935.1 calories according to my pedometer. I’m not really too worried that I won’t be able to make it now. I know I should be able to complete the race now. I had more time to prepare last year and never made it up to 5.47 miles before race day. I’m excited! I can do this!!! :D

Walk #2:  — 4 months ago

I don’t know if I can actually believe my pedometer! It said that I did 3.73 miles in 63 minutes!!! That means I improved a LOT from yesterday. If I can keep up that pace, I should be able to build up to this easily!!! :D

Worth doing!

I walked 42:25 at 1.58 miles. My goal is to get to 4 miles by the end of the week. My strategy for this is to work on building up to the 6.2 miles before race day, then I’ll worry about the time thing later. I’d really like to do the race in 1:30:00, but we’ll see. I’ll be content as long as I improve my time and finishing position.

Less than 3 weeks until race day!  — 4 months ago

very small distances when I can. I’m hoping that I will get very healthy soon, so I can start doing more and walk with greater speed.

and I don’t want to have just 3 weeks to get ready like last year. I also have a goal of beating my 1:43:xx time last year, too. I would like to see if I can do this in 1:30:00 this year.
