so I went back out, put on my fancy headphones for the iPhone, made a biz call and talked for about 30 minutes while I cleaned up the corner. I used the claw, grabber thing and a trash bag. Filled a tall kitchen Glad bag about 3/4 of the way and the corner looks great again. Really, it’s therapeutic for me to do this type of work. I was made for OCD manual labor.

Swept up the cigarette butts. It took about 30 minutes. Ivan helped me lift an enormous wooden palette into the dumpter that was dumped on the corner. It’s looking much better on SE corner of 12th & Pike today.
I went outside with a garbage bag and filled it to the breaking point with trash. Mind you this is for about 1/4 of a block on the SE corner of 12th & Pike. For some reason this corner attracts tons of dumping and general littering. Jerks!
I do have to get one of those picker uppers if I’m going to get the majority of the cigarette butts up. There are hundreds.
Marking this done for now as 80% of the visual blight is gone, but this will be an ongoing goal …
P.S. can anyone recommend a picker upper claw thingy?
I work here and walk by often as it’s my neighborhood. There’s always trash out front and it looks nasty. I want to keep the front of the building clear of trash. I want to buy a picker upper and a bucket to get the job done.
