I’ve just picked up the form to volunteer in the Oxfam bookshop—they need someone on Wednesday morning. The trouble is, the more regular commitments I have, the harder it will be for me to get temp work.
I don’t want to be a pain by making them train me, only to suddenly find myself needing to take up a paid short term contract.
Oh well—it will encourage me to make money from the writing.

I volunteer in Oxfam now for one hour a week. Used to do it in Caner Research but fancied a change. It’s a lot more official and regulated in Oxfam, if you buy something as a volunteer you have to write it in a book and have someone else sign it.
I have to ask people if they’ve got a bag. Never if they want one. I said that the first time and was corrected.

Very worth doing I’d say, I only work monday mornings but it enjoyable, I love charity shops and It’s all for a good cause. Plus I get to do the window displays and dress the manaquins which is fun!

I want to volunteer at the British Heart Foundation shop—they have a poster in the window wanting someone to sort books and videos. So I’d like to give it a go.

Today was my first day at the Peace & Hope charity shop as a volenteer. Definately worth doing.

I worked in a St. Peter’s Hospice charity shop over my six weeks holiday one time. The people there thought I was on some kind of work experience, hehe, they couldn’t believe a 16 year old would volunteer their six weeks of freedom :)
