Happy Unvalentine's Day for Feb. 14th — 6 months ago

I do not love my partner any more on February 14th than on any other day, except perhaps all the days leading up to it…
I also don’t require a reminder to show my partner what he means to me, nor do I think getting an all-in-one printer from Dell (seriously, this was in their Valentine’s adverts) is going to express my undying love.
I’m not a miserable shit, I just don’t like being used by the consumerist attitude that’s prevalent in society. Companies don’t care if I end up in wedded bliss with the man of my dreams, they just want to fuck you over for whatever money they can.
I love my partner 24-7, 365.25 days of the year, and it doesn’t get super-concentrated on some meaningless arbitrary date.
We will, however, celebrate our anniversary, which will be more meaningful, less crass and more importantly, we won’t have to fight to get a reservation at our favourite restaurant! ;)
