damselflysome decisions made

have decided what colour to repaint the spare bedroom wall, the hallway and the study walls. All with paint we already have. Thats a start I guess. 5 years ago

damselflya step towards this

I good step towards making this happen would be to go into the garden shed and familiarize myself with what colours I have in the leftover department. Then I can work out what I can use where and if I need to buy any new paint. So off to the shed I guess. 5 years ago

damselflyinside walls

The guy we bought the house off was a budding artist and he painted multi-coloured stipes on some of the interior walls. Of course they are in ugly colours and look pretty appalling so I want to repaint those walls.

1. study x 2 walls
2. toilet x 1 wall
3. bathroom x 1 wall
4. spare room x 1 wall
5 dining room x 1 wall

Will use colours that fit in with rest of house colour scheme. Have all the materials bar the paint. 5 years ago

damselflytagine

tonight I begun the process of seasoning my new tagine in preparation for its first use tomorrow night. 5 years ago

damselflyadditions!!

I have a tagine that I will actually use to cook with but while its not being put to use in the kitchen I intend on using it as a beautiful display piece. Its a gorgeous clay piece with some patterned glazing. I also now have two lovely moroccan tea glasses and two plates in blue and white. Christmas was good for this goal. My mum is working on a hot coloured moroccan patchwork quilt which will be great. I also received a hammock in hot moroccan colourings. 5 years ago

damselflyGIFTED

tonight a good friend of mine who is moving over 1000 klms away, gave me an enormous glass lantern that is VERY moroccan in style. Its a gorgeous piece and I will have to choose the exact right piece to hang it. It was a lovely gift. 5 years ago

damselflyChristmas

I am hoping for some Moroccan inspired xmas gifts this year as a few people asked for ideas for gifts to give me. A tea set would be lovely. 5 years ago

damselflythrow

Get out pinkish satiny throw rug and use on lounge. 5 years ago

damselflyno progress lately

haven’t been able to make much progress on this goal because I have to be spending money on other things. Tomorrow I am going round some antique shops and I may spot something that fits my theme. 5 years ago

damselflywoven basket

I found a nice plain woven basket to keep all the cat toys in in the lounge room. Its a good textural piece. Would like others to compliment it as extra storage items also. 5 years ago

damselflysofas

So that I can begin to decorate in the moroccan theme on the outdoor patio (and so they don’t smell) I am finally having the outdoor sofa steam cleaned and the lounge indoors done too. Then I can choose an appropriate cover for the outdoor one and select the gauzy material I want to hang over it to recreate a look I saw in one of the moroccan style books I have perused. Will be a building block for the whole areas look. 5 years ago

damselflyI have planned out 4 basic areas

where I want to create this look. The courtyard, the patio, the lounge and our bedroom. I am going to now work in a more structured way on building this up in each area. 5 years ago

damselflycircle cushions

found two excellent round cushions that are covered in moroccan style fabric that matches the colours of my lounge are – best thing was they were only $2.50 each in an Op shop. 5 years ago

damselflyplanning

I am collecting images of the type of colours and furnishings I want to get the Moroccan look with and am looking through Moroccan style books from the library and listing objects to find. 5 years ago

damselfly@ the new house

we want to install gas for cooking with as its much better and put in a enclosed glass box fireplace in the lounge to keep out the chill in winter. Snug and practical 6 years ago

damselflyfreeing up

in preparation for a move to our new house I have been loading up the back of my wagon with bags of stuff I no longer want cluttering up my rooms, shelves, wardrobe or personal space and giving it to Op shops. Consequently I am experiencing 2 nice payoffs for this: its a charitable way to recycle and my current home is beginning to look much calmer and soothing rather than bothersome and overloaded. 6 years ago

damselflysomeone thinks so

I had a comment from a friend over for a party that she loved my house as there is so much to look at. Another said that my house plants were amazing. So I guess I must be doing something right. 6 years ago

damselflygrouping like things

yesterday afternoon while I was home alone,
I spent time re-organising some of my collections
into groups of the same nature. The house looks
better for it, less haphazard and draws the eye
to interesting pieces. Very pleased with the outcome. 6 years ago

damselflyMY HOUSE

my home is a small loft house on 1/2 acre. I am painting it bold
bright colours as they lift my moods, I collect heaps of things and intend to fill the house with small displays. Not worried about this looking cluttered as each collection means something to me. Want to walk in and feel surrounded by my favorite things in a bohemian relaxed colourful way. 6 years ago
