i might be real close to accomplishing this goal 2 years ago

I tried everything…nothing worked…so now he’s doing it on his own. Which is still great!

he's doing it alone 3 years ago

He has been waking just one time now. Doesn’t need his bottle to soothe. Is waking at about 6:30 or 7:00, so I’m finally getting some rest. I think he is going to sleep through very soon.

OK, Tonight is the night! 3 years ago

I have to be consistent. No more bottles at night, so i will start to give him sips of water to get him off being used to having milk at night. I will also wait a bit to go into his room to calm him down. I have to do this for the whole week in order for me to start seeing results. So let’s see how it goes!

Since 2 months, our daughter has slept through the night. We always swaddled her tightly and never gave her a bottle to go down with. (neither did I nurse her to sleep). I give her a soother for sleeping and know that eventually she won’t need it.
For the next baby, I may nurse him or her to sleep, but I’m not sure yet. If I bottle feed, I’ll feed him or her right after waking and go from there. :)

tiggsybabes is on half term

We're there now ... finally 4 years ago

On a normal night when Holly isn’t teething & isn’t unwell, she does sleep through the night. Finally. She’s nearly 1. Kate (now aged 3 1/2) slept through a lot sooner than this. If I didn’t suffer from insomnia (side effect of my anti-depressant for PND) I’d actually possibly get a regular uninterrupted 8 hours sleep per night.

Sort of there 4 years ago

Holly has slept few a few nights, but both her & Kate have had a cold & then a diarrhoea bug, so they’ve both been waking.

Holly has now teethed her 5th tooth, so we may have a short break before the next.

Bad night 4 years ago

Holly went to sleep at 7.15, but then Kate woke her up on purpose later. Gah!

Kate was then awake for around an hour after a bad dream & I’d only just got back to sleep (in Kate’s bed) when Holly woke up at 3.30 for an hour.

She woke up at 6.30 & surprisingly I didn’t feel too bad, but I did then nap myself from 11 am to noon as Andy is at home.

Didn't work 4 years ago

Andy put Holly in her cot at 7pm & read her a book & soothed her. She seemed content & was dozing after 15 minutes, then started wailing. I’ve been with her for the past 30 mins or so & she’s still awake at 8.45 pm :(

She woke at 2.30 this morning & I patted her back to sleep, but then I gave in at 3.30 & went & got a bottle of milk.

She woke up at 6am, which is much nicer than 5am.
