Iv had my name in the newspaper for the premiers reading challenge and all i had to do was read like 10 books
Back in April I released my 4th self-published book. A few weeks later I was contacted by a reporter in the city I’d set the book in. We conducted a phone interview, he asked for headshots, and a week later the article ran online and in the paper. I didn’t get a hard copy of the article (it ran in the Brookline TAB), but I did get to see it online which was cool.
I’ve been in the newspaper twice that I can remember. The second time was on the front page! Though both were for two different small towns, it was still worth it :)
So my friends and I got into graffiti over the summer and this woman approched us about doing a demo for the neighborhood kids. They were having an art show and they wanted a banner made. So we were going to do the demo of us making the banner but then we decided to do it at home. Anyway the banner was at the fornt of this hall that they rented. It was tricked out letters that said ‘Art In The Hood’, how corney is that? The kids thought of this name not me. The banner ended up being in the newspaper under the article of the local kids art show. It didn’t have our names under it so no one would know it was us, looking at the article and how they explained and worded it you would think that the kids did the banner but it was me and my crew.
llong is growing slowly but surely
It feels good seeing your name in the paper, especially those with readership stats of over 100,000.
Hopefully, my obituary will be the best article, outlining my life’s accomplishments with some sort of cohesion.
I also hope I’ve got a couple years before that one gets written. :)
I was in one of those vox pop sections of the paper that are normally at the bottom of the editorial page.
It was such a terrible photo, as i’d just come off of 5 hours of sweaty physical work that day, i was probably put in there as a sample of the daggier half of society’s opinions on the topic. lol!
I do sidewalk chalk art and I was in the newspaper for that. It was just a little article but I was still famous for a little while:) I am doing an event on June sixth where the news people will be there so maybe I will be in it then too. Cross your fingers.
Three times. I can’t believe it either. The first time I was on the front page of the variety section of a major newspaper… a full picture and everything. The response was wonderful.
The second time I gave an interview (to a different newspaper) for an article and it didn’t go so well. But the third time for the same paper my name was the third word in the article! It was pretty sweet but not many people saw it.
It’s fun to have yourself in print.
I have been in our local paper twice in my life so far. Once in high school, a few friends and I did some local activism and won. The other was for the horrific car accident I was in and the trial regarding the accident. So it’s both worth it and not worth it.
procrastinatress is losing weight and gaining radiance!
... repeatedly. Too bad we can’t choose a neutral option rather than “Worth it” or “Not Worth it.”
