jtindieIts a zen thing

A while ago I moved from a 2 bedroom apartment to a single room. I had to get rid of much of what I owned. as the past couple of years have progressed I have found myself collecting more and more stuff and it is once again time to trim the fat and get rid of much of what I own. 22 months ago

iamdavidget rid of all the junk I don't need

I’m in the process of moving which I hate. Hence it’ll be easier to get rid of as much stuff as possible so I don’t have to set it up in the new place ;) 22 months ago

Slowly but surely I’ve been getting rid of the clutter in my life. I recently went through all my clothes and filled up two giant trash bags of items to donate, and have been going through each room in my house getting rid of anything that isn’t useful or beautiful.

I think once I move out of this apartment in August, it will be easier to leave behind a lot of unnecessary things that I don’t even realize I’m holding on to.

I want a clean, organized, and peaceful living space. 2 years ago

baleheadin progress

Since we are moving across a few states & own a house this process has started to happen. I am now taking on room by room. We are going to at first move into an apartment so I am all about simplify, simplify, simplify! Especially since I won’t be working (another goal) & thus home with the junk, so I don’t want it! 3 years ago

baleheadStarting...

When my husband & I moved into our first house from an apartment I thought there is no way I will fill this house up…..well, it happened, now, granted a child has been added to the mix but there is still much crap. I have started on this but it is slow going due to time. But I have, for instance, spent an evening cleaning out a closet, or one corner or space of a room. It’s a process! 3 years ago

bumble27like a giant weight was lifted

Five years ago I lived in a giant mountain of crap that included almost everything I had ever owned. One summer I decided to get rid of most of it- I sold and donated all the clothes I don’t wear, I traded my old books for credit at a used bookstore, I gave things to charity and sold old sports equipment. When I was finished I felt amazingly relieved and unburdened and I didn’t miss anything. It was such a great idea that I always do it (on a much smaller scale this time)twice a year now. 4 years ago

Last year I got involved in Freecycle and got rid of a huge amount of items that were really just taking up space. It was nice being able to gift things directly to people. I am not really a garage sale kind of person so this was a good option for me. Too much stuff can really be a burden and there is a lot of freedom in letting things go. 5 years ago

nonanoBest opportunity is to move

I shortly moved from northern germany to southern germany. This get me to live for 8 weeks with all the stuff that i was able to carry in a car. Now that I recognized how much I’d like to live with only that much that it fits in a van I have all my junk here again …
But I started to get rid of it and next time I move I think I wont’t have to drive twice to carry my stuff.

cheesybunnyI own so much crap

I own so much clothing that I don’t even have enough room to keep it all. I also have a lot of random junk.
I want to go through my clothes if nothing else and give all the stuff (or sell the cool stuff) that doesn’t fit/ I would never wear again away.
Then maybe my posessions wouldn’t be so unmanageable and my room would be easier to keep clean too! 5 years ago

this is the best thing ever! i signed up a month ago. i’ve only released one book. i don’t have an extensive collection of books because i visit the library often. but the overdue fines, that’s another story. 6 years ago

tastyrerunstep #1: move

When I moved this month I left as much stuff as I could manage in front of my garage for the neighbors to take as they desired. I got rid of a lot that way. Then Goodwill recieved some more, but the books… oh the books…

For getting books I’ve alread read out of my hair I’m going to start working on http://www.bookcrossing.com and setting them free…. Go books! Fly! Be free!!! 6 years ago
