Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

quitejadedDidn't Stop but...

It is worth it because you feel more natural, however, you have to take a bath every day and be on time with your bathings. If you’re going to sleep with a person, you have to take 2 baths. If you’re working out, yep, even more baths so you don’t stink.

Instead, I have looked for more natural deodorants. After thinking my efforts were fruitless (and I haven’t tried LUSH, yet, but I hear they’re great) I found a product called “KISS MY FACE”. I think its fairly obscure (I got it on campus, not at walmart) but oh my god. I didn’t think it was possible. People at the end of the day would come say “YoU SMELL GOOD….mmm” even with my armpit soaking wet.

I think the aluminum is meant to clog your pores so no wetness occurs. This natural deodorant does not prevent wentness (a bit annoying, but) it keeps you smelling fresh and clean all day long. Smelling good without smelling manufactured or feeling like I’m risking my body just really outweighed the wetness feeling for me. I love it. 6 years ago

sydney_lorenStopped wearing deodorant.

I stopped wearing deodorant several months ago due to underarm irritation, dryness, and health concerns. Guess what? I don’t stink. Taking a shower every morning and a quick rinse off in the evening is enough. Love it! I want to be more natural. But, this summer will be the true test. 6 years ago

quitejadedBad For You

It hides your natural scent.
And most of them can cause some health problems. I think I experienced them but just thought “I guess I should shower more”.

I stopped using deodorant for a month and used an antibacterial body wash.

My pits feel GREAT! I used to think I sweat too much. NO I DONT! I used to think I stink really really bad. Haha! NO I DO NOT!

Wow. Wow. I am so glad I did this. I think it only works when I use anti bacterial soap, though. So, there are days when I do use Dove (deodorants with out aluminum make me smell WORSE and feel sweatier and it just doesn’t work). 6 years ago
