Never learned to play instrument as a kid. Been taking lessons now for 10 years at my own expense. Just can never seem to motivate myself to practice. A friend has asked me to play at his wedding next year, I would like to do so.
How to practice my violin
How I did it: Well, at one point, my violin teacher gave me a stern lecture, which motivated me somewhat. Actually, I started keeping a practice log and set a goal of four hours a week, which isn't unreasonable at all. I made sure to practice around the same time every day so that it became somewhat of a habit, and did it earlier in the afternoon so that I wouldn't make the excuse of disturbing people or feeling tired. I'm not perfect now, but I'm a lot more constant, and I'm improving a lot!
Lessons & tips: Make a chart and write down how much you've practiced. Show it to someone, anyone - a friend, a teacher, a parent. It doesn't matter, because you'll find that you want to impress them a little bit more every week.
Resources: Tuners, metronomes, and practice logs.

I’ve been playing the violin sice I was 6 years old- I’m nearly 21 so its been a lifetim ething but always in the back. I never really got superb at it, I din’t enjoy it enough in high school. I wish I had sometimes, but I enjoy playing the piano so much more and want to get better at that. But I mean my beuatiful violin is just collecting dust now.
