i am so getting there. i cleaned for thanksgiving, and instead of throwing everything somewhere i actually found homes for everything. it should make it alot easier. now for laundry
I have been tidy lately and I found that I feel comfortable in my own room. I feel great now!
I’ve actually stumbled on some of the untidy 43 Thingers: they want to “get rid of all my clutter”: http://www.43things.com/things/view/16596 !
All joking aside, I think this does show a slight problem with the system. If the purpose of the site is to bring together as many people as possible with essentially the same goal, what is the best way of doing it? Tagging helps a bit, but it is clearly not the perfect solution. I’ve now added “clutter” and “organization” to the tags for “Be less untidy”. This is my contribution to bringing the world’s untidy sods together!
I’m still astounded that so few people on 43 Things seem to feel they have a problem with tidiness! I decided to tag “Be less untidy” with “tidiness”, thinking that this would expose the iceberg of untidy souls, but no: they just aren’t there! Personally, I don’t think this means you’re all tidier than me. It just means you don’t see it as a fault or, perhaps rightly, you feel you have other aims that are more important.
I’m sure a psychologist would be interested in looking at the distribution of goals on 43 Things. Stopping procrastination seems to be Numero Uno. Now why should that be?
I’ve just discovered that there may be health benefits to being an untidy sod. Check this out: http://tvor.blogspot.com/2005/01/tidiness-is-bad-for-your-health_22.html .
I’m surprised there are not more people with a tidiness problem! In my case it’s a symptom of my procrastination. I’ve got lots of little piles of things around the place waiting for me to do things with them. It drives my wife crazy.
I’m going to have a major clean up and try to stop them accumulating again!
