that in order to achieve this goal, my exercise goal and my time management goal I’m going to have to spend a lot less time online.

The shame is that I’ve formed a real habit.

hmmm 2 years ago

I’ve been off sick recently so had plenty of time, I didnt do a lot of reading however, I think I’ve got this mental block that spending time online, watching TV, listening to music is doing something and reading is not and if I am reading I could be missing something.

I wonder if anyone else feels that, the strange thing is that I love reading, its one of my favourite things, I get totally absorbed into books and its like I’m in dialogue with the person who wrote it, if its non-fiction, or I know the characters, if its fiction or biography.

I am thinking about reserving a day a week 3 years ago

Beginning with an hour and then expanding it to a day, which will be my designated reading day and I wont let anything interfer with it, I wont surf the net on that day either.

I might expand it to more than that and, even though I shouldnt, since I’m sure it doesnt help my insomnia, I’ll probably continue to read at bed times.

This is closely linked 3 years ago

With my goal to manage my time better but whereas that goal is to do with my work and leisure time this is pretty much about my books, I have towers of them in my to be read pile, I wish I had more of them read already

Hard Time 3 years ago

It is really hard to find time to pick up a book to read when you got constant work that wears you out and then you don’t fill like reading… just laying around i guess….
