I worked through the book “Style Statement,” by Carrie McCarthy and Danielle LaPorte. 3 years ago

Emma JonesSimply Amazing

I’m pretty sure that if you haven’t heard of “Style Statement” or “Carrie and Danielle” you will soon. They are beautiful people and have a unique message to bring to the world. They want to inspire everyone to be their authentic selves.

Carrie and Danielle have a daily newsletter which is designed to get you thinking about who you are by asking one simple question Mon-Fri and you’re welcome to go to their site and comment about it. They have a best seller at Amazon that’s just out. They have a blog you can RSS to. But the one thing that they do themselves, personally, is offer to give you a style statement.

Now this isn’t cheap, especially now. You can do it via the book now, but originally when I found out about it you could only do it via them and that’s when I booked it (‘twas cheaper then too!) and boy am I glad I did.

The style statement process is a bit like someone interviewing you about you to find out what makes you tick, only you’d never know your answers gave away so much. My answers usually began with “Ummmmm…...” Sometimes I had three totally different things pop into my head which was “fine” as it’s all about authenticity. There are no wrong answers. I was so surprised with my actual “Style Statement”. Not only was it beautiful, but it fit me better than I could possibly ever try to imagine. I had tears in my eyes it resonated with me so profoundly.

My husband had his done a few weeks back with Danielle and his style statement was so accurate. I was still nervous but it was all over in a flash. I wish I could have spent so much more time with Carrie. How rare is it to speak with someone who totally gets you as a person?

As someone who has previously battled with anorexia and self doubt and lives with negative people, feeling able to just be myself without any fear or embarrassment was ground breaking, and it all came down to two words that were my own individual Style Statement.

It’s not about how you look, or should dress, or any of that crap. It’s about you as a person. It’s not a label. It’s almost like putting your soul back in touch with it’s truest form so you can take it from there, rebuild your life, and fly…

I’ve never felt so comfortable, and that’s all thanks to Carrie. She doesn’t know it but her work gave me permission to be me. It validated to me who I was and that was all in a little more than an hour.

It’s truly a one off, and I am totally blessed to have had this experience. If you can’t afford it (which now the price is quadrupled I wouldn’t be able to either unless I saved for a long time … which would be worth it!) get the book. I cannot speak highly enough of Carrie and Danielle and what they have done for us.

I am blessed that I got to speak to the books author! Had the actual experience via the author! Never in the world do these things happen to me! So yes, it felt like what I was going to do was indulgent, but in truth, afterward, I felt free. And since then, I have felt more free than I have in my entire life. I’m now myself. I’ve never just been myself. I actually like myself now and am truly comfortable in my own skin, something I never thought I’d say let alone feel.

This was a wonderful opportunity and I’m glad I made it happen. What I thought of as a stupid selfish thing to want was actually the most liberating thing in the world for me to have done. 4 years ago
