I was just re-reading my posts on this goal and thought of a solution to stitching around button holes… Sew on loops for the the buttons to go through!

Alternatively what I could do – if going for tricky to wash or expensive fabric – is make a quilt / comforter to put over the top of my regular linen.

I really don’t know why I didn’t think of both of these things sooner!

    Change of plans.

My new bedroom colors are going to be pale green, pale blue, brown, and white. (Think of a beach kinda)
=) It’s a good thing I didn’t have the money to start buying things. Lol.

Well I found a few more white fitted sheets for my giant bed so I figure I only really need to make the duvet cover and 2 pillowcases now – HUZZAH for magically appearing bedlinen and just how much it cuts down my fabric woes!

... But yes, I’m thinking 3 vertical strips – red either side with a black&white pattern of some sort down the middle, and maybe just plain red on the back, and I’ll need to find some nice black buttons (though I suck at sewing around button holes so may find a way of using something else!)

    Totally necessary!!! 10 months ago

I have a super kingsize bed so sheets/covers are rediculously priced and I think it’d be fun to make a red/black set as that was the intended theme of my room. The walls and carpet are all neutral, and the furniture is a jumble of styles (mainly pine with 1x dark wood and 2x painted pieces) so the accessories are the things I can have fun with.

Thanks to “thereisreason” for this goal :)

So I found the most AMAZING fabric ever!!

It’s going to cost quite a bit just for the one sheet of this, but I’m hoping that it will look fantastic. I’m currently picking out another color to go with this and once I do, I have to pick out two shades of that…I’m thinking green or blue (though red would look awesome too).

    Exactly Suzi.

I’ve actually started making my quilt first. It’s taking forever and I keep having to put it down for some side projects, but it looks lovely so far and since I’m making it myself, I get to pick the colors and the fabrics and the design. =)

Well, my grandmother gave me her old bed; so, now I finally know what size my new sheets need to be.

I can’t wait to move out and use them for the first time. I’m really excited about the entire process.

I am considering a maroon color of the comforter, but I don’t know yett.
