Cheer My Sweetie To The Finish Line!

Tomorrow, the sweetie takes her first TCM & acupuncture board exam. It is tough because we found out today that one of her oldest and dearest friends died suddenly. We are sad. I am trying to be supportive and extra nice.

from celebratory brunch at the famous Minneapolis institution- Al’s Breakfast. Sweetie crossed the finish line with a flourish. There is a resounding, deafening roar in the stadium. This was a goal totally worth doing! I can now say things like “Sweetie, you are a person who sets big goals and completes them.” I am beaming with pride. Hoorah and Huzzah!

While I just completed my coursework for my graduate degree, the sweetie won’t finish her coursework until December 2008. So, there is lots of cheering, dishwashing, cooking and generally being supportive to do between now and then.

After this, I declare a moratorium on anyone in yhis house doing any additional degrees for at least a year ;-)

Sweetie is sitting in the other room frantically writing final paper to go with final presentation/online tutorial. In a mere matter of hours the last class of the last course will be over and a masters degree will be achieved! There is a hush in the crowd as they concentrate on collectively willing her over the finish line. The very air is electric…

Poster is done and sent to Conference
Laundry has happened
Dog was walked (people were walked too)
Solidarity was upheld with fellow students
the cheering is getting a little louder and more frenzied

Just keep ticking things off the list. One last final project that is something that will actually help you at work and build your portfolio. And then you can teach me how to do such things to help me with my class I will be teaching because you are going to be an awesome Librarian and will help me develop my information literacy pedagogy. I am very proud of you!!

companionable on the couch during scary paper writing. Contrary to popular belief in our house, writing papers for school is generally not fatal or life threatening. In fact I have stated my emphatic certainty that writing this paper will NOT cause death.

My sweetie is almost done with her MLIS degree and feeling a little school fatigued. My job till May is to keep on shouting encouragement and help her get everything done without exploding. I shoveled the front walk for Valentine’s day.
