I haven’t gone to the DMV to get my endorsement put on my license yet but I will…Maybe tuesday. I have become more comfortable with it and will hopefully be on the real road soon. I went 50 last night! Need for speed. Yea right! I felt like I was flying. Safety first because I’m seriously in love wtih the bike, yo.

I have to buy gear. Am working on a budget so I don’t keep putting my ass in debt. YAY!! It was totally worth the crazy crash course I just went through.

Down Payment
By hook or by crook, I put the down payment down today on my CC. I’m getting the beautiful 2006 Kawasaki 636 ZX6R Limited Edition from a dealership here in town. It has 3300 miles on it and it’s only $6K! Sold, baby! I’ll get the helmet tomorrow on lunch from the Kawasaki store or online. Whatever. Here IT is…
So I’ll keep on it and by Friday when I get paid, I will have it all in order. I can put it on my credit card…well, most of it. Then there’s registration and all of that. This is so exciting!!

So the best response of ALL TIME comes from my dad. The conversation went a little like this:
Me- “So, are you gonna ask me what I want for my birthday?”
Dad- “No. Why? What do you want for your birthday?”
Me- “I would like a new jacket- A riding jacket- for my bike.”
Dad- “A leather one with an eagle on it?”
Me- “No, that’s really not my style. I found one I really like online.”
Dad- “And how much does that cost?”
Me- ”$260”
Dad- “Whoa! Why so much?”
Me- “Well it’s made of a material that will protect me and make sure I don’t get scarred if I fall of my bike.”
Dad- “What are you talking about?”
Me- “My new toy—a motorcycle.”
Dad- “Oh really, what kind?”
Me- “It’s a Kawasaki 636…..”
Dad “What? Do you know what those Japs did to us…on a Sunday… at Pearl Harbor?”
Me- “You have got to be kidding.”
I don’t know if anyone else finds this utterly hilarious, but I sure do. He’s mad that it’s a Japanese bike. He would “rather I ride a Harley. It’s well made by Americans.”
My new goal….love a Republican even though he’s a bit old fashioned and close minded. Wow.

after my “birthday spa day.” Actually, my b-day’s not till next Wednesday but I’m taking the day off for ME!! Todd bought me a facial, mani, pedi, & massage @ the AZ Grande Resort so I’m taking it! Erik said that I need to think of #1. Apparently, that’s me. So…in regards to how this relates to my Motorcycle Venture…I’m going AFTER the spa day to look at the bike below. My wonderful friend Nicky is coming with me to peep it out. I will schedule my class on Saturday. I will also have to go to the bank and do my taxes to make sure I have the dough. This is so exciting!

The Reaction

From my friends and family, I have received (Almost) totally negative reviews.
Here are a few:
1. You’re going to kill yourself (most common 1st response)
2. Are you going to wear a helmet? (are you serious?)
3. Why, Oh, why?
4. Don’t do it. I have a friend who….......(something about dying or breaking a limb.)
5. Why would you waste your money on that?
6. You’ll be bored of it in a month.
7. Do you even know HOW to ride?
8. I’m jealous (my little sister).
9. Are you going to sell your car? You shouldn’t. Don’t sell your car.
10. Sexy. Random, but sexy.

Whaddaya think? It has 7,000 miles on it. I’m going to see it this weekend. It has an eliminator kit, flush mounts, frame sliders, a integrated rear turn signal and brand new Pilot Power tires. I still will put the kit from the bike below on it cuz that looks too sexy. Also, here’s THE jacket to match….
